Yuva; The Entrepreneurship Cell of SSCBS;  strives to promote entrepreneurship among aspiring entrepreneurs by providing a platform for them to turn their ideas into reality. Yuva collaborates closely with SIIF to make the startup culture appealing and hassle-free for students interested in launching their businesses.

In its ten-year-long journey, Yuva has successfully organized various events and carried out diverse projects. The world’s largest B-plan competition, Hult Prize, visited Delhi University for the first time with Team Yuva as its Regional Partner. Yuva associated with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and rolled out a Grand Prize of $1 Million for the winner. Yuva also conducted Impact week by Lufthansa Global,  where people from various corners of the world bonded over a common ground of entrepreneurial talent. Team Yuva also conducted the Alpino Ideation challenge, A nationwide competition, open to students at all levels. It gives them a chance to come up with an idea for a real life problem and launch it pan-India.

This year, for the first time in India, Yuva and SIIF organized an online certification workshop on Lean Start-up in conjunction with Lean Studio (California). Organized under the mentorship of Ryan MacCarrigan (Silicon Valley Startup Coach), this workshop gave students a better understanding of the startup industry and an opportunity to tap into their creative potential through prototyping.

One of the highlight events of Yuva this year was a global ideation challenge- Springboard organized in collaboration with the National Entrepreneurship Society of the National University of Singapore. Participants in the two-day event researched in-depth about real-world difficulties that today’s start-ups face, used innovative technologies to design practical and sustainable solutions, and pitched their ideas to a panel of respected judges with a chance to win cash prizes.

Y-Accel, the startup consulting unit of Yuva took up live projects this year, where it supported growing startups like Tripmagus, a tech-travel start-up, and Utsawam, an online event management startup. Such live projects provide exposure to students and gave them real-time experience on how a startup works.

Apart from it Yuva and SIIF  also organized various knowledge sharing and brainstorming sessions to hone the skills of their members. Entrepreneurship Talks were organized with a focus on the Entrepreneurship & Startup ecosystem. It witnessed eminent personalities like Vrinda Dube (Founder & CEO, Knick Knack Nook), Durgesh Rawat (Project Manager, Get My Parking) amongst many others. Despite the online medium of operations and the uncertainties posed due to the pandemic, Yuva and SIIF have consistently strived towards creating a startup-friendly ecosystem and channelizing the creative potential of the youth towards productive ventures.
